WoW Forums -> [Bug] Cheat death is inconsistent

Paulane< I suggest you spirit… > · Emerald Dream12/08/2007 01:11:26 AM PST[Bug] Cheat death is inconsistent
I have 3/3 cheat death.

Sometimes it casts and says "cheating death" and everything is good.

But then I get times like this:

What happened here?
For crying out loud, please fix the "5-second-out-of-combat-delay-after-killing-PVP-opponent-bug"

I am curious to know why vanish cannot be fixed like cheat death is apparently going to be?

It appears that it is latency causing a player to die before cheat death is applied, such as vanish failing because latency allows attacks to follow through as vanish is cast.

Because it's a completely different mechanic :)

For cheat death, the attack still lands, just takes partial damage.

For Vanish - what do you do? You can't become "immune" to an incoming attacks after Vanish, because then you'd be immune to AoE that SHOULD be hitting you (and breaking your vanish)... or from DoTs ticking, or what if someone actually DOES detect you (it's possible) and hits you?

Where have you been all my life? Where has Hortus been hiding you?

Thanks for the response. Now...about that vanish....

In case you missed it, this is fixed in 2.3.2 (going live tonight):

Cheat Death: When multiple attacks land simultaenously, all those resolved after the attack which triggered Cheat Death will now have their damage reduced by 90% as intended. However, the combat log will still report them doing full damage.
