Ehh, this would sort of defeat the idea of combo points. They're meant to act like a series of attacks that constitute as a combination of abilities on a target and then finish it.

Though, I do agree that the loss of combo points is annoying... An additional finishing move that did the same effect that you're talking about, with a really low energy cost and dubbed "Cleave" or something could fit into the mechanics of it though =D

I like the idea. Buffs to combo points won't really make too much of a difference in pve, but can make a world of difference in pvp.

I had an idea (might have already been suggested, idk) about having gouge only "add" a combo point. So if a target has 0 combo points and you gouge, they still have 0 combo points on them, but if they already have some, then it'll add 1. This would allow you to do the "drive-by-gouge" on a healer/caster without losing the cp's on the main target. Should probably make my own topic to get some feedback and move it to the suggestion forums, but... I'm lazy. Anybody, feel free to take the idea and run with it if you think there's any merit to it.

Allowing the rogue to keep combo points independent of the target is actually something we've considered for some time. If and/or when it would be implemented is still to be decided, but we're certainly not opposed to the idea.

EDIT: Could you make some more posts, just to make the rogue community feel better? I mean seriously, attention from Blizzard employees makes people feel better about the state of their class in upcoming patches.

Thank you for considering something that'll help rogues out. We've had so many DPS nerfs that something increasing combo-point convenience will be a welcome refresher.

I actually like the OP's idea; that, or we should just add the 5 CP's to ourselves and do whatever we want with them. It seems to me that the latter makes the most sense.

If my idea's too overpowered, then I'll definitely /sign this.
