If you use AddonLoader it will load delayed, otherwise it will be there immediately at login. If you don't have TomTom, roll back one version or wait for the build tomorrow. |

This is one awesome mod. It's steered me effortlessly through the Outlands and it makes life so much easier. I can't wait until the Horde guide is complete from 1-70. Hopefully that will be soon, but I can't complain. Awesome work Tekkub.

1) Do comments ever get used by any addon?
2) Multiple "complete" objectives will all be tracked at the same time so the user knows that they should be looking for more than one thing at the same time. The status window should generally tell the person the least common quest to be completing, so that when it's done the others should get done too. For example, if you need to kill 10 mobs and also collect 4 objects taht are scattered amongst the mobs, list the collect quest first. The user has to kill the quest mobs on their way to finding the quest items, so simply looking for the items will probably finish the kill quest. If it doesn't, the kill quest will show up in the frame after they finish the collect quest. As for turnins and pickups, the intent isn't to *force* the player to pick up in a certain order, just list them out in the order they're likely to encounter them as they run thru town. That's why the "not in guide" thing was added... personally I run into town, talk to every "!" I see, grab every quest that doesn't have the warning, then check the frame to make sure I didn't miss any. I kinda expect that the user is smart enough to do the turnins themselves, we just have the tracker there so they don't miss that stupid questgiver hiding behind the barn. I NEVER use the "pick up all the quests" or "turn in everything here" that some guide authors use *coughjoanacough* because you always seem to miss one... 3) The whole point of the |U| tag is so you don't have to dig thru your bag, yes. TG has a little button it shows when it finds one of those, you just click it to use the item. You shouldn't use those if you don't have to open your bag though... a lot of quests require an item to be able to collect the quest item, but you can still just right-click the node to loot it, so long as you have the item in your bag. |

It's too late in the dev for feature requests really, I've got the addon doing everything I want... but don't be afraid to toss ideas at the gcode tracker. I did do that and found it very helpful. There are only three questions I have left so I'll just ask them: 1) some of the guides have a lot of plain text at the bottom usually in comment blocks. Does that get used by the program or is it just for the guide author's reference? 2) It appears that activities are meant to be performed one at a time, correct? Is there any way to specify simulataneous tasks? For example, killing ravagers while picking up any pears you find. This got particularly confusing for me when I was picking up a lot of quests. It seems that it's designed so that the quests are to be picked up in a particular order as opposed to "grab these 5 quests here" and showing all 5. Not really a big deal, but just wondering (and nice touch on the "this quest is not in your current guide" to keep from junking up your log). 3) I don't really understand the use of the "U" tag. When I get close to the place where I use the item, should I be able to click on something in the addon to activate it or do I still need to dig into my bag and use the item? If it's the latter, what's the point of the tag? Thanks. |

Questions about guide creation
After playing with this a bit I had some questions about what kind of stuff you can put into a guide and how you would do it -- is this the right forum for this? I checked out the google site but it looked more like a defect/request tracking system and the wiki didn't appear to have any signficant traffic (or am I too early/late in the dev cycle to ask about this ?)

Mostly guide data. Read the notes between the two yellow tags if you want full info:

Any new features with this update? I guess I'll find out when I load it up in a second... I'm still waiting on a feature to hide TG when I choose.
Great work, though! Love this addon. |

I do not plan a guide management system, no. TG will have 1-70 for ally and horde, with all starting zones before it's considered "release". If the user wants to use a different guide set, then they'll need to pull the included guide data sub-addons out so they can disable them (or delete them completely) and load another addon to load it's data in.
Or they can use both at the same time. As long as the guide names don't collide they can exist side by side just fine. |

Very cool, Tekkub. Now I can retire my add-on and start writing guide data for yours. (Wink)
Do you plan to set up any sort of library system for storing/downloading different guides or does that have to be managed by the user due to the need to update the toc? |
